It was a much changes side visited Tattingstone, absences meaning only the bare 11, with coaches and an injured player on the bench. None the less, the 68 spectators were treated to a real goal fest, with some fantastic finishes, none more so than the simple phenomenal winning volley from Blow, the Wanderer’s player showing his class all night.
Henley started well, Wharton-Richardson forcing a neat save after only 5 minutes, but it was Tattingstone who took the lead, Blow tucking away a neat finish after 11 minutes. Their lead only latest 6 minutes, Hooley cutting in from the left and smashing home for 1-1. Wharton-Richardson worked hard on 30 minutes to create a chance for Cowan, which went narrowly wide.
At the other end, Punter was called into action on 34 minutes to make a great stop. But on 39 minutes it was Henley who took a 1-2 lead, Wharton-Richardson, breaking clear and rifling home, Henley came close on 41 minutes, a venomous strike from Hooley was well saved, hit so hard, the Tatt keeper required treatment to his wrist after saving it.
Tattingstone caused problems for themselves early in the 2nd half, with first 1 then 2 players in the sin-bin, but Henley didn’t take full advantage, with only Cooper’s strike needing saving on 57 minutes, 3 minutes later a crisp hit from Cole whistled just over.
Tattingstone equalised after 74 minutes, Buxton curling in a fine effort from outside the box. Cowan and White saw efforts go wide for Henley, but on 87 minutes Tattingstone took the win, with a goal worthy of winning any game. A deep corner volleyed top corner, into the stanchion by Blow, to make the final score 2-3.
